GT Tennis Club FAQ
What is the tennis club?
The tennis club is an organization of tennis players who get together to practice with each other and compete with tennis clubs from different universities. It is also a great way to meet fellow tech students that enjoy tennis. We have players that range in all levels of skill.
Does the tennis club host an annual tournament in June?
No, but we do host one in March. It's singles and doubles. We invite tech students, tennis club members, and tennis clubs from other universities.
How do I join the tennis club?
You can sign up to be on the mailing list for free by checking out the links on the left. To become a full member please contact our president @ techtennisclub@gmail.com.
What are the benefits of becoming a full member?
As a paid member, you get to participate in team tennis competitions both at Georgia Tech and out of town. You also are guaranteed courts during practice times.
Is full membership free?
No. Membership is $35 a semester or $50 a year. This goes to pay for overnight travel expenses and balls. Come out to one or two practice on us. You can see how you like it and decide if you want to pay later.
When and where are practices?
Check out the calendar link over there on the left.
Are practices or the matches mandatory?
No. We know that Tech keeps you kinda busy. However, priority for trips will be given to those that come to practice when space is limited.
Is equipment (racquets, strings, and shoes) provided free of charge?
No, only balls are provided. Some of our members own stringers... just ask around if you need stringing. But otherwise, please bring your own equipment and wear proper tennis shoes. Proper tennis shoes (black scuff marks suck) are strictly required to play on the Varsity courts.
